Conditions for Hire Drive
During busy periods i.e. Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, A Debit/Credit card number may be required when booking your hire. The hirer must cancel before 48 hours of the hire booking, if not a booking charge will be applied. The full cost of hire is due for failure to show for hire booking.
Is there any age restriction when hiring a vehicle?
Yes, drivers must be 25 years or over. To hire a minibus +7 seater, drivers must be 30 or over. We have an upper age limit of 70.
I don't have a credit card of my own. Can I still book?
Yes, please contact local branch for details.
What documentation do I need to bring with me when hiring a vehicle?
To hire a vehicle, you must bring a valid Driving Licence (Photo card), Driving Licence Summary and two proofs of your address (acceptable documents include utility bills and bank or credit card statements issued within the last 3 months). Overseas visitors must produce a valid domestic driving licence accompanied by a passport. You must also bring the credit/debit card used for payment of the reservation. License Summary can only be produced by visiting DVLA website. Bring in summary not the code.
Can you supply vehicles with an automatic transmission?
Not at this present time
Do you supply child seats?
Not at this present time.
Do you supply your vehicles with a full tank of fuel?
Our vehicles operate on a ‘like for like’ basis whereby the fuel level is marked at the start of the rental (normally Empty – Empty) and should be returned the same. Any fuel shortages will be charged at local pump prices.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept payments by most major credit cards and by cheque (by approval of management only). We accept payments by Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and Delta.
What is the insurance excess charge?
Yes, an excess will be charged for each incidence of damage. The excess amount is subject to driver qualification and vehicle type. Excess protection will be offered to reduce your excess (dependant on vehicle types). Deposit must be paid if excess protection cover is not taken out.
What is the mileage allowance?
1-4 days at 200 miles per day free of charge. Excess charges vary. Please note we are no longer allow van hire across the Scottish border due to insurance and recovery (contact office to discuss).
What time do your rentals start?
Rentals can start at any time during our opening hours and are based on a 24 hour period. Van rentals usually start from 9am daily, contact branch for variations.
How much do additional drivers cost?
It costs £20 per day for an additional driver and £40 per week
What are your normal opening hours?
Falkirk branch is open 7 days, Saturday 8.30-13.00, Sunday 8.30-9.00 (Bookings must be prior approved for Sundays). Please note, bookings and collections can only be made up to 15 minutes prior to closing during the business week.
Can I return the vehicle out with your normal office hours?
Yes, but vehicles are left at customers risk until a member of staff has checked the vehicle over.
Can I take a rental vehicle to Europe?
No.
What do I do in the event of a breakdown?
In the event of a breakdown, you will find an emergency roadside assistance on the windscreen.
